Because Sam has not been feeling his best we decided to lay low and not partake in all the fun Halloween festivities. We had planned on taking him to Belmont and to a few houses in our neighborhood, but he was really not up for it. We did put him in his costume and take a few photos though ;)
Sam came down with a cold at the end of last week - poor guy - he has a stuffy nose and just not feel like himself. He was cranky all day yesterday and into today. This photo was from yesterday - I let him nap in his high chair bcs it was the only place he would actually rest. I think it made his head feel better to be upright:
My friends from the Isis Great Beginnings class I took in the winter met up for our monthly play date. It is really supposed to be more of a play group for the babies, but I think the Moms have the best time out of the bunch ;) Simin hosted this time and had such a fantastic spread. She had homemade pumpkin beer that she and her husband made last year and then yummy food for us to snack on. Here are some photos that Kelly took on Saturday:
They are loving playing with all of Violet's toys :)
I have no idea what Sam is trying to accomplish here ;)
Sam joined the ranks of crawling babies today :) He has been working on it for a while now, but nothing consistent to get him where he wants to be going. So this evening he crawled a good four feet. My Mom had him out today and mentioned that he was pretty much there to me, then Gisela and I saw him go a few feet when I got home from work. He then pulled out the real stuff for his Dad later this evening. So my first reaction is excitement and being so proud of him, the second reaction I have is "oh crap, now we really need to baby proof this place..." ;)
Today we officially upgraded Sam to a front-facing car seat. We have had the seat for a week or so now, but just had the chance this morning to install it. He absolutely loves it :)
Today Mike, Geoff, Sam and I joined Adam and Nicole at the Paddy's Road Race in West Newton. It was a lot of fun and I pushed Sam in the jogging stroller. After we crossed the finish line, I took a peak into the stroller and found a sleeping Sam.
When Lauren decided that it was time for her to move on to her next adventure we needed to find a new nanny for Sam. We were really fortunate to be able to connect with Gisela in just the nick of time and so we only had a few days that we needed to call back-up childcare for him. So starting at the end of August Gisela joined our little family in Arlington Heights. We (and Sam especially) are so lucky to have her in our lives. I asked her to send me the photo to when I convert this blog into a "baby book" we will have photos of them together :)
Sam is getting very good at "walking" when he holds your fingers with his hands. He is really enjoying the new freedom that comes with it :) My forecast is that he will be running before he is crawling ;)
