Mother's Day - 2011

So a little on the belated side, but as I was downloading photos to my laptop I came across some photos from Mother's Day this year.  I forget the reason why, for some reason I think I was sick, but we celebrated Mother's Day a week after the official holiday. Geoff surprised me with a day of fun.  We went to the MFA to the Chihuly exhibit, had a picnic lunch in a park on the Jamaica Way and then we went to the Arnold Arboretum to see the lilacs in bloom.  ps - there was a smudge on the camera lens the entire day ;)

Memorial Day weekend

We went to Geoff's parent's lake house for the long holiday weekend.  It was really lovely and very fun to be able to hang out with everyone.  Nicholas and Sam were actively playing together and Sam picked up a few words from Nicholas along the way :)  Here are a few photos from the lake - Sam played in the sand for a bit, and maybe our next visit we we will all be swimming:

Gisela

Sam's second nanny Gisela went back home to Mexico on 5/23/11.  She took her entrance exam for her new college and will be starting there in a little bit.  We were so incredibly lucky to have Gisela in our family for close to 9 months - she was so wonderful with Sam and we will miss her.  I am glad though we were able to provide a fun intermission while she was in between universities.  There are so many great photos of them together, but her are some favorites:

Washing Dishes - May 18, 2011

Seeing as it has been a month since I last posted, and I do not know how to back-dates posts, I will just leave the title to do the explanation ;)

Besides sweeping, Sam is very curious in washing dishes - we let him have a go of it a few weeks back and he was an instant pro:

Red Sox

We had tickets from my Dad for Saturday and took Sam to his first game - we did not see a lot of baseball played - but did get to see meet up with Gitchel and Scott during the rain delay.  We basically camped out under the stair well in the right field grandstand to stay dry and out of the way of the crowd.

Eating with your comb?

Sam loves to feed himself and is getting better and better at uses utensils.  This is not the best photo in the world - but you need to trust me when I tell you that Sam is eating hummus in his little bowl using his comb.

I thought it was ingenious  - the flat shape enabled him to shovel more hummus in his mouth compared to a little spoon ;)
