Sam's first field trip

Sam went on his first school field trip to the A.R.T in Cambridge on Friday - a parent their does their marketing so she kindly arranged for the tour.  They took bus from Belmont Center to Harvard Square, had snack, went on tour and took bus back.

He looks tired in this one ;)

Charlotte Stay and Play

Charlotte is going to a Stay and Play class at Sam's school this winter - it was our main Christmas gift to her, and she loves it.  She gets to play at Sam's school with a lot of the younger siblings from Sam's class everyone knows her and Sam.  The Director of Sam's school runs the group.

Sam is very much so into planes right now so Geoff made planes for him, Sam and Charlotte - they zoomed around the house and had a great time:

Winter Park

Kids have been stuck inside with the cold and snow, so when it was slightly warmer I took them to the park in Belmont. Having kids stuck inside during the winter makes me seriously consider moving to CA or any place with milder winters.

Christmas 2013

So this year we got our first real tree and it was also the first Christmas we did stockings and gifts at our house in the morning.  The kids had such a great time - every gift Charlie opened she said "ohhh"  and Sam was really into opening everything.

The marble run toy above is one of the favorites, it was the main gift we gave Sam - well that and an airplane you assemble because he is really into airplanes now.  Charlotte's main gift from us was a "Stay and Play" class at Sam's school.  It meets every Friday until Spring and we thought that would be a good way to help get through the winter.

So we did stocking and gifts here in the morning with Geoff's Dad, then we went to brunch at my parents with his Dad, then we came home all had a nap or rest, and then Geoff's Dad cooked us dinner at his house.  It was a really nice day, lower key than normal but really great overall.

Sam's 4th Birthday!

We celebrated Sam's 4th birthday this week!  In light of him being sick with an ear infection he had a really wonderful day and really got into having his birthday.  Well technically we have been doing the countdown for a few weeks now - and I got balloons and hung some decorations around the house.   In the morning he opened the gift from Charlotte (toy figurines of a caribou and a sea turtle); I took him to the Dr (which he loves ;), then he had a bagel and cream cheese in Belmont center (one of his favorite meals ;), then we had a few people over for pizza from his favorite pizza store and an ice cream cake.  He requested a chocolate ice cream cake so that is what he got.  My Mom, Chris, Lauren, Jordan & Marie came for pizza and cake and Sam had a super great time opening his gifts.  He is as such a great age it is so much fun. 

We were supposed to have his birthday party this weekend at CoCo Keys yesterday, but we had to cancel it on Saturday morning bcs Sam was still under the weather - we will need to re-schedule for January after the holidays. 

KidSpace

We have been getting a membership to KidSpace in Belmont for 3 years now - it opens at the of October and runs through early Spring so is a great place for the kids to run around and play when it is cold out.
